Addictions Foundation

Shared Health Mental Health & Addictions

In April of 2022, the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba transitioned into Shared Health Addictions & Mental Health. While AFM no longer exists, school-based services will continue within the transition into Shared Health.
The Portage la Prairie School Division is partnered with Shared Health Addictions & Mental Health to provide school-based counselling services for students at Portage Collegiate Institute. The goals of the partnership are:

  • To encourage the early identification and referral of students experiencing problems related to their substance use or gambling involvement
  • To prevent students from becoming harmfully involved in alcohol/other drugs or gambling
  • To assist and support students and families affected by the substance use or gambling involvement of people close to them.
